Restore Your Glow & Confidence

Anti-Wrinkle Treatment

Lines and wrinkles, e.g. ‘frown lines’, are caused by repetitive muscle activity.  By injecting botulinum toxin (e.g. Botox ® or Azzalure) the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles are temporarily blocked; this relaxes the muscle and in doing so reduces lines and wrinkles.

Botulinum toxin can be used to reduce lines and wrinkles, stop excess sweating, especially under the arms, treat rosacea and help with facial slimming.

At London Road Dental Care, our facial aesthetic practitioner strives for a natural rather than a ‘frozen’ look.

Will the treatment hurt?

We use very fine needles and a gentle technique to reduce discomfort.

What happens at the appointment?

Following completion of a medical history form, to ensure we treat you safely, we will discuss which areas you would like to be treated.  After examination and a discussion of treatment options we will ask you to sign a consent form and clinical photographs are taken.  The area to be treated is cleaned and marked out ready for the injections.  The treatment usually takes 20-30 minutes.

How often will I need treatment?
The results for anti-wrinkle treatment lasts up to 4 months depending on lifestyle factors.  We recommend at least 3 visits within a 12 month period to ensure we reach your desired result.

Are there any side effects?
Although uncommon, as with any treatment there can be side effects, these vary from mild bruising to temporary muscle weakness.

What will happen if I stop having treatment?
If you stop having treatment the effects will wear off and lines and wrinkles will return as before.

Botox ® & Azzalure are prescription only medicines that can only be administered after consultation with a dentist, doctor or nurse prescriber.
